New York Trip

Well, to celebrate Brent's graduation from Architecture School back in May...Deb took us on a week long vacation to New York. Brent and I had never been to New York and couldn't wait to go!

We left on Saturday, August 23rd EARLY in the morning. We had 3 celebrity sightings just at the airport. The 1st sighting was John C. McGinley...he plays Dr. Cox from Scrubs. The 2nd sighting was Kevin Bacon he was on our plane. The 3rd was Kyra Sedgwick...she plays the lead actress on The Closer. She is also Kevin Bacon's wife.

Saturday when we arrived in New York the taxi cab rides began...I had major anxiety these people drive HORRIBLE! No one seems to know how to drive and they say CA drivers are bad haha. We checked into the hotel and then went to dinner at an Italian restaurant. After that we walked around Time Square.

Sunday we did a lot of walking. Had bruch at a French Bistro. It was very yummy. We also went to see Wicked on Broadway :). It was really good and a lot of fun! After seeing Wicked we went to dinner at Bar Americane it is a restaurant owned by Bobby Flaye. If I weren't pregnant I am sure I would have enjoyed the food ;) Brent and Deb LOVED the food :) The restaurant was beautiful!

Monday we went down to Ground Zero...there wasn't much to see they are trying to rebuild the area around it. We went to the Statue of Liberty. This was such an amazing thing to do. It was one of our favorite things to do there! After the Statue of Liberty we went over to Ellis Island. We walked around after returning from Ellis Island and met up with one of Deb's friends Colleen. While waiting to meet up with Colleen we went to St. Trinity (I think that is the name of the church). It was a beautiful church and we walked through the cemetary. It was neat seeing the really old headstones. We walked down Wall Street. She took us to her apartment and we walked to dinner. We took our first subway back to the hotel that night ;)

Tuesday we did a ton more walking. We went to another church, St. Patricks. It was also very beautiful. We went to the Empire State Building. This was a little disappointing. We stood in line for almost 2 hours and then were only up on the 86th floor for maybe 10 minutes. The view was lovely, but it is most likely more beautiful at night. We also went to Grand Central Station and did a little shopping. After that we went to the hotel to drop off stuff and rest for a few minutes. Then we headed to Yankee Stadium. We went to see Yankees vs. Red Socks. We don't really like either team, but wanted to see a Yankee game since we were in NY. Boston beat the Yanks and boy were the fans upset! It was fun!

Wednesday we headed to the US Open for Tennis! It was so much fun. This is the main reason Brent wanted to go to New York this time of year. It was our favorite thing to do in New York. Brent was very excited as were we all. Deb got some awesome courtside seats!!! The matches were amazing! We were so tired from this I think we only went to dinner and then went to the hotel early...can't remember exactly haha.

Thursday we went to the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art). It was a beautiful building. There was so much to see that it was a little overwhelming. My favorite art there was Egyptian and Medieval Art. It was amazing :) We did SOOOOO much walking during this day. We walked through FAO Schwartz...then we went to Serendipity 3. I really wanted to eat here ever since I saw the movie Serendipity. There was a 30 minute wait so we decided not to wait around...but I can say we were there! ;) Deb wanted to go out for a great dinner and we ended up eating at the hotel...sorry Deb!

Friday was our final day in New York. We went to MOMA Museum. This was our favorite museum. There was a lot of architecture art and buildings to see. This is what we loved at the museum. I love seeing Brent in his element. You see the passion he has for architecture. We got to the airport early and were able to get a flight home early! We were all ready to go home :)

We were so very lucky...the weather was amazing! It was never over 86 degrees and really only one day of humidity!

To Deb...thank you so much for such an amazing trip! You are the best :)We love you!!!

A Fun Weekend!

Friday I got to spend the day with my mom, J and Natty! We went shopping. I had to break down and buy a couple maternity pants...lucky me! We then just hungout at J's until it was time for dinner with our family. Unfortunately Brent, Mike, Deb, and Brigitte weren't able to make it. Brent and Mike were working...Deb was at Pebble Beach for work, and Brigitte just had surgery.

Saturday was exhausting! Brent, Laura and I walked 10 miles. They did great...I sucked! Laura is probably wondering why she asked me to do the walk with her in September haha! Sorry Laura :) Saturday evening Laura and I went to Carrie's Luau Reception. It was fun!

Today, I'm just being lazy...eventually I need to go to the grocery store so Brent can make Allie's Dutch Food when he gets off work. I'm starving so I need to get off this computer and get moving.

Teacher of the Year!

Well, in July at our Staff Dinner I was given the honor of being Mardan's Teacher of the Year! I was completely shocked and honored. It is crazy to think that I have been teaching going on my 4th year this year. I thought this was blog worthy...especially since my hubby enjoys sharing this bit of info with our friends and family. Enjoy the lovely pics!

11 Weeks!!!

Today we hit 11 weeks!! I can't believe how fast it is going. I'm excited cause that means everything is going well. I just wonder if I will continue to have all day nausea, tiredness, and headaches throughout the entire pregnancy...

We will be celebrating 12 Weeks in New York! So those will be fun photos :)

Family Time...

Well this past Sunday Allie, Jere, Ky & Chase came to HB. We had an impromptu lunch at Ruby's on the pier. We got to take a few pics. This is the first pic of Allie & I together preggers! We had fun...I love you guys!!!

Nausea Continues...

Well, I know all this nausea and tiredness will be worth it once our beautiful baby is here and healthy. Until then...I wish this nausea would give me a break once in a while. Since the end of week 5 I have been nauseous pretty much all day everyday. I think I had a grace period of 2-3 days where I felt pretty good...but since then back to feeling yucky!

Enough about the whining! I am blessed to be pregnant and have a healthy baby on the way.

Now if September 7th would hurry up and get here we could tell everyone whether we are getting a boy or girl!!! :)

10 Weeks Already...

Well tomorrow marks our 10 weeks of pregnancy so far. It is so amazing to learn about what is going on with our little baby. We are so excited and can't wait to find out what we are having. The plan is to find out what we are having on Sept. 7th! When we know you'll know ;) Let's hope our little one is cooperative! I can't wait to find out if we are getting a Sophie or Kieran!

P.S. I Love You!

Ok...so I rented P.S. I Love You on our DVR today. All I can say is what a wonderful movie. It made me laugh and cry...I honestly don't think I've ever cried so much during a movie EVER. Now not sure if that is because I'm preggers or just because it is a sad movie. I definitely suggest it, but make sure you have tons of kleenex...If you watch it let me know how you like it ;)
